What to Do with a Knocked-Out Tooth

After a tooth is knocked out, it is important to see your dentist as soon as possible. If you have a knocked-out tooth, then watch this video to learn what steps you should take before heading to your emergency dentist serving Issaquah.

First, pick up the tooth by the tip and not by the root. Now, apply clean gauze to the tooth’s socket to help stop any bleeding. Next, gently rinse off the tooth in a cup of water, but do not try to clean the tooth or hold it under running water.

Carefully place the tooth back into the socket and then gently bite down on a gauze pad. If the tooth does not easily go back in the socket, keep the tooth in a glass of whole milk or the person’s saliva and then head to your emergency dentist or family dental facility.
